QUAD COMPLEX

The new aluminum Avenger plates by Sure Grip are pretty awesome. I’ll have more to say about them (as well as the Vanilla Brass Knuckles boot) after I skate a few more sessions with the new setup.

Overall I’m very happy. The only (minor) issue I’ve had so far came about when I wanted to swap out the toe stops. The Sure Grip Carrera stops that came stock with the plates were way too small/short for my liking. Getting them off the plate turned out to be somewhat of an ordeal. The allen wrench needed to loosen the toe stop bolt is a funky size (my Reflex tool didn’t work, neither did the wrenches at the skate rink) and the bolt comes from the factory EXTREMELY tight. It took me about an hour of blood, sweat, and liberal cursing to get both stops off. In any event, SG’s are off and the Gumballs are on. Hooray Gumballs!
